ZLATAN SAYS RVP SHOULD MOVE
AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said that Arsenal striker Robin van Persie should leave the club in the summer in order to win more trophies.
Robin van Persie is regarded as one of the best players in the world. He scored 34 goals in the previous calendar year alone, while he is in contention with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi for the European Golden Boot this season.
However, in terms of the trophies won during his career, the Dutchman has extremely limited options. Despite being 28 years old, Robin van Persie has not won a major trophy with Arsenal.
Arsenal were recently defeated by AC Milan in the last 16 of the Champions league. Despite being defeated by AC Milan in the first leg, Arsenal would have had the opportunity to recover in the second leg had it not been for the humiliating score line.
Arsenal were defeated 4-0 on the night. This all but brings an end to the hopes of Arsenal ending their trophy drought, which goes back from 2005. Arsenal last won the league title in 2004, while their last trophy was the FA Cup in 2005. As a result, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has said that Robin van Persie should move to another club in order to win more trophies.
"For sure, Van Persie will do a fantastic job wherever he goes, and he will be a big player for whichever team he joins. But of course, if your team doesn’t win for a couple of years, inside yourself you still want to win. And if you don’t want that then I will never have you on my team, trust me!" AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic said after the match. Robin van Persie's current contract with Arsenal runs out in 2013.
